The Great Hunger Games Debate...noise, clutter...whatever it is, its Hunger Games related.

We saw the movie. Twelve times. We hope that you did too.The Debate continues- what did YOU think of the movie?

OH

OH AND sorry about that huge font for so long. Here's an eensy one to balance your BRAIN.

If you haven't LIKED the Hunger Games Facebook Page YET...you best find it soon. It's got amazing info. Click here to go to the Scholastic Books"OFFICIAL ONE" but there is another MOVIE HUNGER GAMES ONE that's good too click here to like that one...but this has some sweet book trailers to be sure...

ALRIGHT. THE MOVIE. TIME TO LET THE FRUITS GET THEIR MOVIE CRITIQUE HATS ON.

Take it from Kiwi-- here's everything she liked and didnt like about the movie.

(changing to courier new, because, lets face it, it just looks more official.)

Filming. Was I the only one who got a head ache? With the way that camera man was jostling around, it was hard to focus on Josh and Liam's beautiful faces! Like I get, dramatic effect, bla bla bla. But really? They took it to the next level.

THe hunger games took half as long to watch as did the entire getting ready for it part. THAT was a little unrealistic.

Aside from everything we complain about, they did good. I mean they did a WAY better job than the Percy Jackson movie. Did anyone else see that? DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED> >:(

But anyways, over all, we loved it. #TEAMPEETA <3

MOCKINGJAY by Suzanne Collins (the third book is first so you might need to start at the bottom of this post if ou don't want spoiler info.)

-- THE FUTURE IS HERE--
Mocking Jay REVIEW. MOCKING JAY FIGHT CLUB. MOCKING JAY MUTTERINGS.

We are currently slugging it out as to what we think about this book. Mostly because we were all in it for the romance....and half of us were for Gale...(ehem....did anyone notice his fall into the darkside...WHATEVER) . And well...what to say about the rest? About what happened to Peeta...about how Katniss might have been a total B?

We hate war. We hate B's. The book sort of forgot the love story and went to the war and there it stayed--only to destroy and shake down the entire love story until only shreds were left....AGAIN. WHATEVER.

Was it a bad thing that the author did that?  That's what we haven't agreed on yet...beyond the fact that we all have an acidish bad feeling in our chests when we try to talk about this book in particular.

Disappointment tastes really bad.
Did we read it to the end without sleeping? Yes.

Did we all buy more than one copy because the mom's didn't want to share....yes. In three houses. Yes.

Are we going to pay too much for movie tickets and t-shirts? Yes. But will the acidish feeling go away? We don't think so.
Will hollywood mess up the love story now, YES. If they read this last book, it's a definite.

Did we all get to feel, taste, and smell war up close and did it make us feel really, really, really bad?
Yes.

Did we want that feeling...is that what we hoped for when we bought--NO --when we PRE-ORDERED that book and acted crazy for months and months of waiting for this book?

NO. Heck no. NO. NO. NO.

Was it a good story? Yes.

If you made it this far, Does your head hurt as much as ours does now?

We vote last book is a romance loss...but not a story loss. But our site is about romance. This final book chose war not love as it's main focus, and even though it had a pitiful happy ending (pitiful being short on pages for the sweetness...we can't shout about it like we'd hoped. We can pretty much only cry. So, thanks Suzanne Collins for making us cry.

Straw says thanks for not killing Peeta or Gale...WE WILL FORGIVE YOU for the ACID-WAR thing-
if you write the love story where Gale is redeemed and turns good again AND gets to fall in love too even though he designed without regret those hateful parachutes? Is it not obvious he played a part in possibly murdering his true soul mate? Prim was supposed to be for Gale...later on, after he got over Katniss, duh.

HEY. This. Is. A GOOD IDEA!!
Suzanne Collins, we're talking to you here.
Bring the guy back to the light side? YES. YES!! Do it.

Like, Gale could be 'the bachelor" who didn't get chosen but who comes back with his own show?"  Think about it, K?

In the MEANTIME...

We're gonna go watch the news and be in eighth grade and high school where we can easily cry more because isn't the real world now just as horrible and as sad as your third story was? GEEZE.
Lighten up next time just a little. We read to escape K? Escape.
We'll give ya one more chance. OF COURSE.

So...yeah..that's it. K.S.and the fruits.

--- THE PAST--what we used to think about The Hunger Games IS BELOW-- Remember when guys? -- boo hooo.

(This was written when our hearts were full not broken)
What to say...except when we saw the cover o the first book we did what you are not supposed to do. We JUDGED IT. And we judged it to be a boring "dad spy novel strange book not to read" and we left it alone on the "books to read" shelf that my mom has created. We left it there for MONTHS. Oops.

Well, mom got to the bottom of her pile and started into this one in my pile with the same "this is one ugly man-cover type comments". (Sorry to the publisher and we like the cover now that we know what it is but, DUDES, SERIOUSLY. This book is not about the PIN. It's about the LOVE STORY. DUH. If you are trying to make girls read this book because it contains the most perfect love triangle plus the coolest story EVER written this is NOT the cover. Okay?  No. No. No. Imagine a girl, somewhere in the 'arena' with bow--and two amazingly HOT guys over each shoulder looking at HER...and her not looking at either of THEM with the purple flowers that were placed all over RUE somewhere...oh I don't know. I'm not a book cover maker but still I could do better than man spy looking book.

Anyhow-- Mom read it and we knew something was up when we did not see her for an entire day and she did not at all notice that we were on an all day XBOX binge. Even I felt guilty and went to check on HER. She was curled up, circles under her eyes and muttering, "Get yourselves some Cheerios for dinner or whatever you want, is that okay?" This comment being after we'd eaten microwave food and ice cream all day.
NOT ALLOWED. NEVER HAPPENS.

The last time that happened was when she read Twilight. Never before. Never after. Until this book.

Mom loves romance and will stop at nothing when it's right. And in this dark, amazing, beautifully written story it was right. Two days later, I was dark-circled under my own eyes and babbling from lack of sleep.

HOLY A++ to Suzanne Collins.
We are fans.

This story has not left my head. I can't stop thinking about Peeta and how he must feel at the end, and poor Katniss Everdeen...and Prim and Gale-- Poor Gale, having watched the entire games and what he's thinking. The sequel will be reviewed next but we are on CSAP testing week and my mom said I can't get all crazy and read it until testing is over (but I saw her this morning, hiding in her bathrobe, dark circles under her eyes holding the next book and I know she just want's to be finished FIRST).

(UPDATE) We both read it...we're dying until August when number three comes out.
These are both great.

The only thing we hated was the 'ramp up' that people who write series do to explain all that went on in book ONE. Blah so boring and so lame that every single series does exactly that. We wish writers would NOT do that. if you make it obvious that it's book 2 on the cover then why torture us with pages of what we already KNOW? Just make a page for the dummies that don't get it's a series that says--WARNING. GET BOOK 1 first. Is that so hard?

Other than that. YAY. PERFECTO STORY-- questions are the same-- Peeta or Gale...Peeta or GALE? (we are all for Peeta...both Mom's are for GALE.

Posted by KIWI and STRAWBERRY who has finally caught up and read them and says YEAH PEETA. JAM just ramped in last week. You should see her. Delrious and blabbing about how shels SO in love with Peeta. Well stand in line sister--you are months and months too late. NOT SLEPT A WINK. YAY.
LOVE THIS BOOK. Honestly, we haven't acted like this since our 'twilighter freak out days'. WE SAY TEAM PEETA.

All fruits and Moms agree on this series and shocker...the Grandmother who's cool enough to read novels agress that it rocked. Is there a term for a Grandmother Cougar? My mom says... Porcupine. HAhahaha. Porcpine. Momnonmys rocks.
